A
Little About Us
It
is truly our pleasure to invite you to experience our inspiration, the
world of Gold Mountain Mining Company. We are Marv and Stephanie Baskin,
co-creators. After decades of involvement in the jewelry trade, Gold Mountain
Mining Company is truly our “crown jewel.” If you’re planning a trip to Amazing Arizona, please stop in for a visit over an ice-cold sasparilla (jus' tell us you saw our website and we'll hand over a free one!) We promise to make you feel like the much-anticipated guest you are. Gold Mountain Mining Company comes to you with over 60 years(!) of family experience and exceptional service, combined with our deep love of the Old West tradition. Believe it or not, Marv traded a career as a golf professional to work in this industry. And Stephanie had a previous life of glamour, working both in motion pictures and singing with Frank Sinatra’s group.
We went into business for ourselves in the '70s with the first of our unique jewelry and gift stores, Accessories Unlimited, in the San Francisco Bay Area. In the '80s we took the family north to Oregon, where we created The Baskin Gold Company, the predecessor of today's Gold Mountain Mining Company in Arizona. Now we are proud as punch of our little store here in the beautiful Sonoran Desert. People forget, or never knew, that Arizona was a state known first for mining and the wild, wild Old West. When you are in our store, well, dang if you don't feel like you're up in old Skagway, circa 1888, or panning the mother lode in the hill country just north of the store. We had a blast decorating the place, complete with antique wagons, ore washers from the Humboldt Mine, pick axes, washing pans and shovels. Even the floor is wood and marked with age. The walls are worth noting authentic corrugated rusted steel from the old Bisbee Mine, accented with old railroad timbers and split birch logs. Wow! But, fun
as our store is, our pledge to you remains: The best
prices and service anywhere … guaranteed!
So come on by … our old prospector, Gabby, would love to chat with ya,
too! |
